An industrial design is the ornamental or aesthetic aspect of a product to improve and improve the product's marketability and even production. The design may consists of three-dimensional features such as the shape and configuration or two-dimensional features such as pattern and ornamentation. An industrial design right in Malaysia is protected under the Industrial Design Act of the particular territory and the maximum protection is fifteen (15) years from the filing date. The registered industrial design in Malaysia is given an initial protection period of 5 years from the date of filing and is renewable for a further two consecutive terms of 5 years each.
